This is the single best interview I’ve seen with Michael Pollan. He doesn’t come across as anti-meat here either which is why I am often irked. Growing grains and legumes to feed cows is so profoundly stupid, I put it higher on my list of peeves than he does. So be it.
There are so many subtle and nuanced issues in the albatros of agribusiness, and food production that only an hour-long discussion can begin to address them. In the end, Pollan is a wonderful voice for real, practical improvements in our food system. Much of which is in our hands. I like that. Do you have plans for a garden this year? Who’s your farmer baby?

Cheap doesn’t mean it’s without cost. I’ve said it before and Michael Pollan says it again on The Daily Show. (running time: 3:41) YouTube.com had it but Viacom’s copyright lawyers yanked it.

This is a video of Michael Pollan speaking to Google’s employees. His once refreshing, always articulate and thoughtful voice on matters of food gives us hope. He’s not without his nit-pickable flaws but let’s all get on the bus before we start arguing for seats.
